What rotating proxies are

A rotating proxy gives you a different exit IP over time instead of one fixed address. With a large pool behind it, each request, or each short group of requests, can come from a different IP. For large-scale data collection this spreads the load across many addresses, so you are less likely to hit per-IP rate limits.

When you need to stay on the same IP, for example during a login or checkout, you switch the same proxy to a sticky session. The IP then stays the same for a fixed time (the TTL) before it changes.

Rotating vs sticky sessions

You choose the session type in the proxy generator and can create as many lines of each as you like. Rotating and sticky lines can be mixed in the same account.

Rotating residential vs rotating mobile

Rotating residential proxies draw from IPs of real ISP networks. They are the usual choice for scraping and local SEO checks, and start at $3.50/GB for 1 GB, down to $1.80/GB on large packages.

Rotating mobile proxies exit through real mobile carrier networks. Because carriers share an address among many users, mobile IPs are rarely treated harshly by websites, which makes them useful for strict targets. Prices start at $5.00/GB for 1 GB, down to $2.90/GB on large packages.

Both are billed per GB, so a rotating pool does not cost extra compared with a fixed one. See residential pricing and mobile pricing.

Tips for rotating IPs

  • Rotate per request for stateless pages and APIs, use sticky sessions for anything with cookies or a login.
  • Match the country to your target so you see the local version of a page.
  • Respect robots.txt, site terms and sensible request rates. Rotation is not a licence to hammer a site.
  • Test a line with the proxy checker before a big run.

Frequently asked questions

What is a rotating proxy?

A proxy that changes the exit IP automatically, either for every request or after a set time, so traffic is spread across many addresses.

What is a sticky session?

A session in which the same IP is kept for a fixed time before it changes. It is the right mode for logins and multi-step flows.

Can I use rotating and sticky proxies in one account?

Yes. You choose the session type each time you generate a proxy list and can generate as many lines as you need.

How are rotating proxies billed?

Residential and mobile proxies are billed per GB of traffic. Rotating does not cost more than sticky.

Are rotating mobile proxies available?

Yes. Mobile proxies can rotate or stay sticky, with country targeting and HTTP or SOCKS5.
